La fotografía ya no es (la) que era. Ha crecido, evolucionado, se ha reinventado a sí misma, ha salido literalmente del marco para expandirse e hibridarse con otros formatos: la instalación, el libro, el vídeo, la performance. Su función originaria como herramienta documental es tan solo una posibilidad válida entre las múltiples vertientes hacia donde puede dirigirse su potencial creativo. Hoy en día la fotografía no solo retrata lugares, sino que los imagina, los interpreta, los reconstruye. Los límites han desaparecido: no existen barreras en el inicio, el desarrollo o el resultado. El punto de partida puede ser la historia, el archivo, la observación de lo cotidiano, la necesidad de dar un soporte visual a un concepto o una ficción, el deseo de recrear lo que fue, pudo ser o será…
La diversidad en las soluciones es amplia y sorprendente. Cada vez más, se le concede un papel prioritario al proceso. En los trabajos seleccionados cobra especial relevancia la investigación previa a la formalización del proyecto, la manipulación de las imágenes captadas, el uso de procedimientos técnicos transformadores, la preparación de escenografías o la planificación de acciones. La fotografía es su herramienta predilecta, pero también un medio abierto a la convivencia con otros recursos. Las líneas divisorias entre los formatos se vuelven permeables y su diferenciación improcedente. Más que plasmar o evidenciar una realidad, las propuestas presentadas conciben, modelan y ficcionan mundos. Traspasan la inmediatez de los acontecimientos para realizar sueños.

Photography is no longer what it was. It has grown, evolved, it has reinvented itself, it has literally spilled over the edges of the frame to expand and hybridise into other formats: installation, book, video, performance. Its original function as a documentary tool is just one out of many valid possibilities provided by its creative potential.
Nowadays, photography not only portrays places, but it imagines them, interprets them and reconstructs them. The limits have disappeared: there are no barriers at the start, in the development or the result. The starting point can be history, archives, the observation of daily things, the need of providing a concept or fiction with visual support, the desire to recreate what it was, could be or will be… The diversity of the solutions is wide and surprising. An increasingly priority role is granted to the process. In the selected works, the research previous to the formalization of the project, the manipulation of the captured images, the use of transforming technical procedures, the preparation of scenographies or the planning of actions are especially relevant. Photography is their favourite tool, but also a medium that is open to co-existing with other resources. The dividing lines between the formats become permeable and their differentiation inappropriate. More than capturing or evidencing a reality, the proposals presented conceive, model and fictalize worlds. They transcend the immediacy of events to realize dreams.
The personality of the video has been designed based on questioning how we view photographs today. We mainly consume images online, on a screen, in scroll, and making use of the social media. Today, we all have a double, our digital identity, by means of which we communicate and promote our personal and professional lives. The screening aims to draw near to the visualisation and real dissemination of the works, as well as to put a face to the artists behind them, without whom this project would have been impossible.
